(via) I suppose one could argue that these pictures do not prove him gay, per se, which seems to be the way that a bunch of crazy (homophobic) people are really actually reacting to them in crazy (homophobic) places like the IMDb boards and the like. All they prove is that he once comfortably stuck his tongue in another dude's mouth. And who hasn't done that anyway? But the gay rumors have been attached to this fellow for as long as I've known who he is, I even mentioned them in that gratuitous post I did of him in May of 2007. Blah blah blah, I just like looking at this, and that is enough reason in and of itself. And hey, Matty, look at it this way - you just bought yourself your very own label here at MNPP! Celebration! Grab the nearest guy with a camera and make out with him!

I'm just struck by how HAPPY he looks in these photos. It'd really bum me out if he goes all closety after these.

Matt is an out actor, in a relationship... He and his partner are raising kids. These pics are 10 years old and only go to prove something that isn't a secret.
As a friend of Matt, I hate to see that people are using these old pictures, especially in light of the fact that he now has a family. And this is not going to help him in any way... it is only meant to hurt him. He is not keeping his relationship or his sexuality a secret. And now that he has a chance to become a leading man who is taken seriously, these pics just add to the potential harm.
Please remove these pics. Use all the promo pics you want. Tell your readers that he is gay. But don't post private, outdated pics of a long-ended relationship. What good comes of that?
I'm happy that Matthew is in a happy place in his personal life, Sean, and I can't wait for him to start talking about that fact himself. I'm simply unable to see what "harm" these old pictures of a simple kiss could cause though. If pictures leak online of him doing something offensive, then I will have second thoughts about posting them. Right now I see a picture of something I do with my own boyfriend on the street every day and am simply not gonna play your games of demonizing such a thing. Sorry.
