Matt Bomer received a "Spotlight Award" from the Savannah Film Festival on October 26th, and that picture of him and Joe Manganiello came out of it, so it was all worthwhile.
And listen I like these guys, Matt & Joe that is, just fine. But... come on with this - apparently this past weekend the Palm Beach International Film Festival
awarded "a career achievement" award to Joe. I mean okay, I suppose he has
achieved a
career, so technically they're correct. And the amazing thing is you know this award only exists so the folks in Palm Beach can rub shoulders, big big
big shoulders, with Joe in person -- and he didn't show up! He sent a video, which you can see at
that link (erasing all exclusivity for those poor crestfallen Palm Beach folks at last), explaining he was too busy shaking his thong for
Magic Mike XXL. Of all the ungrateful. My favorite bit about this is what Joe says of
MMXXL though:
"The first movie was like the appetizer, this is the main course. This is probably the most daring studio film that’s been made since the ’70s."
Good grief.
