I Am Link

.
--- Rupe Buzzy - I guess they're rebooting the Hitman series after that Timothy Olyphant one failed to take off - Paul Walker was going to star which, uh, isn't happening now, so they've hired Rupert Friend, who's been a bellwether of snark and hot ass on Homeland the past couple years. I'm not sure how he's gonna look with a shaved head though.

--- That Was England - Director Steve McQueen is talking about his next project, which will be a series for the BBC on "the black experience in Britain from the 1960s up until the current day - I wrote about it over at The Film Experience. I will follow this man anywhere (and thankfully so far I've always had Fassy along for the ride).

--- Spaghetti Sequel - The original 1966 film Django, which starred the supernaturally attractive Franco Nero, is getting a sequel. Nero will reprise the role in Django Lives, but you know, he's old now, he's not what he once was. He had a cameo in Tarantino's film, if you recall - he was the dude at the bar that Jamie Foxx told the "d" was silent.

--- After The Flood - Another big screen auteur besides Steve McQeen who's planning on making something for TV is Darren Aronofsky, who's just signed a deal with HBO, although there's no word of what that'll ultimately end up being if anything. Right now with regards to Darren I'm just sitting here dreading Noah, is all.

--- Laugh Lovely Lady - All we've got specifics-wise is it's a "comedy of manners" but Greta Gerwig has signed on to star in a movie from writer-director (not to mention wife of Daniel Day Lewis and daughter of Arthur Miller) Rebecca Miller. Miller's made four films before, none of which I've seen - they all sounded kind of tedious. But I'll be seeing this one, obviously!

--- Winter In Spring - The fourth season of A Game of Thrones will premiere on April 6th, so we can get back to murdering all the people we care about in terrible ways just as the weather begins to warm up again, how sweet.
