I really did like Ben Affleck once. It was awhile ago, but it happened. So I'm trying to remind myself of that here today with the news that he's probably going to take the lead role in David Fincher's upcoming adaptation of Gillian Flynn's book Gone Girl, a book I liked and have talked about a couple times before. I wrote up more about this over at The Film Experience earlier today, but I didn't do a good job there being nice to Ben at all. Oh well. He has two Oscars and a wife that's way too good for him, he can manage.
