Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Dizzy: My mother always told me
that violence doesn't solve anything.
Rasczak: Really? I wonder what the city founders
of Hiroshima would have to say about that.
Carmen: They wouldn't say anything. Hiroshima was destroyed.
Rasczak: Correct. Naked force has resolved more conflicts
throughout history than any other factor. The contrary opinion,
that violence doesn't solve anything, is wishful thinking
at its worst; people who forget that always die.

Civics lessons straight from the lips of militaristic psychopaths -- aka the way school was meant to be taught! Anyway I feel kinda weird celebrating this movie on a day of being happy about politics (fill in the blank here with the necessary arguments about Obama's embrace of drones and so forth), but what ya gonna do - today is its fifteenth anniversary. That's right - fifteen years! Add one more check to the "I am getting old" column. But instead of discussing the film's satirical take on propaganda and patriotism, I have a more important query...
