Very funny and sharp at times, but Seven Psychopaths trades the genuine pathos of In Bruges for far too much silliness, leaving a bit of a vacuum where its heart needed to be. I never bought the friendship between Farrell and Rockwell - it certainly never came near the honesty that emanated from one between Farrell and Brendan Gleeson in Bruges, and they weren't even really friends! Not to get into Psychopaths spoilers but the giant hole at the center of the friendship between Farrell and Rockwell was too wonky to keep it anywhere near grounded. Also, I'm thinking about starting a Save Abbie Cornish foundation. Poor, abused, broadly-shouldered actress. Christopher Walken's pretty wonderful though - with this and Dark Horse 2012's been a Walken renaissance for me - and it's not like I mind staring at Colin Farrell's hypnotically overactive eyebrows for ninety minutes.

Really didn't like this one. Clever-ish, but really uninvolving.
Aren't Abbie Cornish and Olga Kurylenko even a little bit bigger names than actresses who should be taking those parts?
In Bruges has a better handle of the underlying themes than Seven Psychopaths did.
Rockwell's character really bothered me.
