I claimed he had been abandoned by director Steve McQueen back when news first broke that McQueen's next movie 12 Years A Slave would star Chiwetel Ejiofor instead of his successful two-time collaborator Fassy. I spoke too soon! Via Variety:
"Call it a three-peat for Michael Fassbender and Steve McQueen, as the thesp and multi-hyphenate are reteaming again on McQueen's next pic "12 Years a Slave."
... Pic also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and tells the true story of Solomon Northrup, a New York citizen who was kidnapped in Washington in 1841 and rescued from a cotton plantation in Louisiana in 1853."
If you read what I had to say about Shame yesterday, then you know I greet this news enthusiastically. Obviously no word on who Fassy will be playing or how big a part it'll be, but it's good to see he's lining some stuff up since he'd been taking a bit of a break here.
