The Moment I Fell For... Melissa McCarthy

.

"I take no responsibility. I was only an innocent bystander. But there was this one time, you guys... you missed each other by, like, three minutes. It was so exciting!"

I was reminded of this scene from Go - which you can watch below - with Craig's wonderful look at three of Melissa's best performances over at The Film Experience over the weekend. Save Wiig she's obviously the big break-out coming out of Bridesmaids - which I've been contemplating going to see a second time; didja hear how it became the highest grossing Apatow movie of all time the other weekend? Fuck yeah Wiig! - and Craig's right on with how excellent she is in The Nines. But we all fell in love with her for the first time in this scene, didn't we? And then we stood around waiting and waiting for ten years. It's about damn time!

Hell yes. The way she kinda tries to fix her hair while she says "It's some kind of rave or something" slays me.

YES. I'd actually quoted every single line of her dialogue at first here (which is only a couple lines longer) because she pushes every single syllable of it out to its furthest rung of hilarity. It's a master class in cameo acting. I mean she's got what 30 seconds of screentime? And she's one of the biggest highlights from an already COMPLETELY awesome movie.

This is why we're friends.

Go does feel like an integral building block that's come up again and again in our friendship, Joe. The world doesn't give this movie enough credit though! We stand united against the forgetfulness.

I fell for her during her stint on Gilmore Girls. Had that frantic comic energy in Every. Single. Scene.
