I kinda summed up anything I might have to say about this flick before I even watched it in less than 140 characters on Twitter last night:"Barbara Stanwyck is Dixie Daisy. Strippers being strangled with g-strings. Based on a Gypsy Rose Lee book. Edith Head costumes. OMG YES."
And it totally delivered! It had all of those things, each one more sensational than the one before it. The movie's a little stiff in parts and definitely a product of its time (read: some bits came across as dated) but still. Babs is Babs, therefore awesome. She wears barely-there peekaboo stripper ensembles designed by Edith freaking Head. Strippers are actually strangled with g-strings. If that don't sound like a slice of heaven to you then you're fit for the waste-bin!
