With this year being the 70th Anniversary of the film, we've been seeing tributes popping up all over the place for The Wizard of Oz. Why just next week Jennifer Hudson (Oscar winner!) will be doing some kind of a concert in Central Park in the film's honor. Well we were feeling a little left out of the festivities here at MNPP... granted, that was by choice, but we tend towards schizophrenia so I might say anything one minute and mean just the opposite sixty seconds later. It's a nonstop roller-coaster ride!
Aaaanyway, here's my stab at the Wizard's legacy today. Dorothy has three friends of the male variety that surround her first at her farm and later follow her into her brain-bashed fantasy-world (a little skewed due to her hemorrhaging, no doubt). For the purposes of this game of DDM I am asking you which of the three real-world counterparts you think Dorothy should end up doing, dumping and marrying (you know she's forced to marry one of them! There are no boys her age anywhere to be seen anywhere in the film! These guys are it!) which is a decision you can base off of how Dorothy's brain interprets them in her deranged dream. Like you might argue that, with Zeke the whimpering afraid-of-hogs ninny, Dorothy's sub-conscious turning of him into a head-bow sporting wimp with cascading golden locks might imply she probably wouldn't have a good marriage with him there. Just maybe. Or you could argue that Hunk is named Hunk and so damn girl needs to break her off a piece of that. So on, so forth. It's up to you!
