I Am Link

--- Game Boy - Garrett Hedlund, that hot dude that got blown by Lindsay Lohan in a rowboat (in that Georgia movie!) has taken the lead role in the TRON sequel. This is really just an excuse to post a picture of him, as I really couldn't give much of a damn otherwise about the TRON sequel. Previous slavish picture appreciation of Mr. Hedlund can be found here and here. I find him physically attractive, y'all.

--- The second review of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse is online and it's pretty much exactly like the first - hopeful but not entirely sold on the basis of the first episode alone.

--- Paging Sally Jupiter - io9 has a pair of new videos for The Watchmen up, including the Japanese trailer which has all sorts of not-seen-before footage.

--- Crawler Staller - Following up on those weird set of pictures from The Descent: Part II is an interview with the sequel's director at STYD today. He sounds hopeful but to be honest a little overwhelmed. I'm still crossing my fingers though, and y'all need to join me.

--- Magic Beans - DJ "Eagle Eye and Disturbia" Caruso is directing a "Jack and the Beanstalk" movie next. Why do I care, given the fact that I think his movies so far have stunk? Because this puts the status of Y: The Last Man up in the air. The film adaptation of Brian K. Vaughn's wonderful comic series was set to start filming this Spring I do believe. It's probably just taking them longer than anticipated to construct the most offensively simplistic take on the story is all. So no worries!

--- You Had Me At Pile Drive - Rich at FourFour went searching for the real-world version of Mickey Rourke's character of Randy "The Ram" in Darren Aronofsky's film The Wrestler and found him in the 1999 documentary Beyond the Mat. And onto the queue it goes.

--- The Brits Hate Rachel Too - Nat takes the BAFTAs to task for their apparent anti-Rachel Getting Married stance, given the other choices they made. I might have loathed the film - and oh baby did I - but I agree that excluding Debra Winger (the other good thing about the movie besides Anne Hathaway) from their Best Supporting Actress short-list in favor of some of the bizarre choices they made is weird.

Oh boy, is Beyond the Mat a good movie. If you like wrestling, at least.

The Jake the Snake Roberts scenes are tough to take, as are some of the Mick Foley ones (for different reasons), but it's great. The WWE really hated it, of course - you'll see why when you watch it.

I'd say it's one of the best wrestling documentaries of all time.
