Anybody caught any of this "Dead Set" series across the pond which brought upon this rant of Pegg's? It does sound interesting... Big Brother meets Romero... if it happened here, the Chen-Bot would self-destruct and take California into the ocean, no doubt.

Ain't nothing funnier than a passionate geek argument.
But if he's giving a pass to 28 Days Later (which it sounds like he is), what movies are he complaining about? The Dawn of the Dead remake?
The infected in 28 Days later weren't dead.....
In these arguments I pretty much take the stance that slow moving Zombies in movies are magic.
If they are fast moving zombies then they are not dead.....

I'm in the UK and I've seen Dead Set and I can confirm it's a work of genius.
It was written by Charlie Brooker who is a highly regarded (and very funny) TV critic. He is pretty vitriolic when it comes to reality telly and has constantly berated Big Brother. This is his first screenplay and it's a blast.
Although not as satirical as Romero's earlier Living Dead films it was pretty sharp and had enough social commentary to keep me amused. It's particularly damning of Big Brother and I was impressed that Endemol (BB's production company) let their brand be used.
It also featured cameos from many of the previous housemates and the presenter of the show also appeared (and she really impressed - her acting skils were excellent)
I'm not sure how well it would work out of the UK as there are SO many in jokes which are very specific to the British Big Brother.
It was especially bloody and gory and the language was constantly offensive which thrilled me to bits. There are also some genuinely frightening moments and some parts were very bleak.
My housemate is a Zombie fanatic and she loved it. This could probably have something to do with her being a massive Big Brother fan as well. These zombies run FAST but except for the that exception purists should be pleased.
