I Am Link

--- Bamberlicious - Final Girl has reviewed the 2003 flick Ghost Rig which... is about a ghost on an oil rig. But why, pray tell, did she submit herself to such lunacy (besides the fact that she's a lovable lunatic, of course)?

Because she was under the spell of its star, Jamie Bamber! Like we all are. Or rather, so say we all!

Also, you need to check out Final Girl's latest episode of Ghostella's Haunted Tomb! It's what the cool kids are watching.

--- Whedon Disseminated - This news has already spilled across the internets at lightning speed, as anything to do with Joss Whedon inevitably does, but it's not really even news, just a slight update on other projects Joss is handling besides Dr. Horrible and Dollhouse. It all stems from this interview with MTV; what Joss has pushed to the forefront of his attentions right now - again, we're talking besides his new TV show on FOX and his online musical - is the script for Cabin in the Woods, which he and Drew Goddard are working on together. Sounds as if it's some sort of deconstruction of the usual "kids visit a cabin in the woods, horrible things occur" storyline we've all come to know and love.

--- Cops versus Gangsters versus Zombies, Oh My - That's all I need to hear to find myself interested: Via BD comes news of the next project by French auteur Xavier Gens; it's called The Horde, and in describing the film the following awesome sentence was written:

"In order to avenge the murder of one of their own by a group of ruthless gangsters, corrupt cops four go on a rampage in a condemned building serving as the mobster's hideout. Now trapped, the officers are about to be executed when the unimaginable occurs: hordes of bloodthirsty, cannibalistic creatures invade the building, savagely attacking everyone."

Sign me up!

--- And finally, it may be July 2008, but that ain't stopping Glenn at Stale Popcorn from posting his 2007 UMAs, aka his Best of 2007, list. You can blame the shitty release schedule he's subject to down in Australia for the delay. But conversely, if I'd seen his #1 movie in time for my Top 10 list, it would've made it onto my list, so there is something to be said for patience... go check it out!
