Headline of the Week

It's 9:25 on Monday morning and I've already seen the story that'll elicit the happiest mental montage I'll have all week. From DH:

Jake Gyllenhaal Gets "Nailed"

Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel are teaming for the political satire "Nailed" which David O. Russell ("Three Kings," "I Heart Huckabees") will direct for Red Wagon and Persistent Entertainment reports Reuters.

Biel would play Sammy Joyce, a socially awkward small-town receptionist who has a nail accidentally shot into her head by a clumsy workman, eliciting wild sexual urges.

The uninsured Joyce goes on a crusade to Washington to fight for the rights of the bizarrely injured. She meets an immoral congressman (Gyllenhaal) who takes advantage of her sex drive and capitalizes on her crusade as Joyce heads into her own career in politics.

Russell co-write the screenplay with Kristin Gore (Al Gore's daughter). Shooting is scheduled to begin in January.

Okay, okay, there's more meat on the bones of this story than just that vertigo-inducing title. Jake's continuing his streak of working with great directors - David O. Russell is one of the most interesting directors working... of course, he's also one of the more, ahem, challenging ones, if y'all remember those leaked behind-the-scenes videos of Russell practically assaulting Lily Tomlin on I Heart Huckabees, and then there's that old chestnut of a tale of Russell and George Clooney coming to blows on Three Kings.

Will Jake handle the assholery well? And will I continue to ignore the name "Jessica Biel" attached to this? Stay Tuned!

Kristen Gore is awesome, but that's just me.
