Rose McGowan Is Wasp Woman!

That's a headline intended to give my boyfriend an instant orgasm, but it's not exactly the case; according to Variety, McGowan is attached to play 50's B-movie star Susan Cabot, who did indeed play the Wasp Woman in Roger Corman's my-boyfriend- approved flick, and who apparently led a tragic and bizarre life that ended with her murder at the hands of her own dwarf son (!)... this post is just filled with sentences to make the boyfriend die with glee, actually. From AICN:

"... an interesting bit of news on a new project from Stephan Elliott, the writer/director of THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT. Well, I don't think it's new... I think he's been trying to get it made for years, but it looks like it's actually going forward now. He's got a project called BLACK OASIS, which is based on the tragic life of '50s and '60s b-movie actress Susan Cabot.

Cabot seemed to gain prominence in the early '50s appearing in many westerns, including GUNSMOKE. She became a Roger Corman favorite and appeared in such films as THE SAGA OF THE VIKING WOMEN AND THEIR VOYAGE TO THE WATERS OF THE GREAT SEA SERPENT (helluva title, isn't it?), THE WASP WOMAN, WAR OF THE SATELLITES and MACHINE GUN KELLY.

She was brutally murdered at the hands of her own son, a dwarf... No shit. How bizarre is this story?"

Seriously, Rose McGowan is just... first A MACHINE-GUN FOR A LEG and now this... she knows how to get me, that woman.

Well, they got the casting right. McGowen has always looked like a Corman gal.
