I Am Link

//
--- NYT on the set of Marie Antionette with Sofia Coppola and friends.

--- Very sad to hear of the demise of director Remy Belvaux, whose only film was the brutal Man Bites Dog, which I really liked and reviewed here. Not sure why that's the only film he ever made; he showed a lot of skill and promise with that one film, though.

--- Oliver Stone is planning on releasing a third, longer cut of Alexander.

Says PR Inside: "The PLATOON film-maker insists the cinematic version of Alexander was hampered by time constraints after being slashed to 168 minutes in length. Stone originally wanted to release the movie in its original three-hour form but concerned studio bosses forced him to axe scenes containing homosexual content. The new DVD-only release will be a staggering three hours and 40 minutes in length, and will feature footage edited out of the original cut."

So are we gonna get Hephaiston's killer-thighs or what? That's all I want to know.

--- Joan Chen joins the cast of Ang Lee's Lust, Caution, as Tony Leung's wife. I was just wondering last night where Joan Chen had gotten herself to. And now I know!

--- MGM may've announced their plans today to make The Hobbit with their hopes set on director Peter Jackson, but that's news - albeit of the good variety - to PJ, sayeth Harry Knowles.

I hated Man Bites Dog, but that's still sad.
