So Who's Coming Out First?

.
.
.
The conversation in going strong in the comments of that post yesterday where Lee Pace & Richard Armitage were pictured lustily bench sitting, so it seemed the time to just go ahead and ask. Both fellas have big movies this year - Lee's already given us the bad guy in Guardians of the Galaxy (sidenote: butt-double or not a butt-double?) and Noted Luke's Dracula Untold is out in October. And then of course they're both featured in Gay-Town Central (tm Ian McKellen) aka the new Hobbit movie. Everything's coming up closets!

I could have sworn that Lee Pace was open. I know I looked into it way back after SOLDIER'S GIRL

luke already came out.

sure, he went back in but he did do it first

I wouldn't think either could stay in the closet if they date the people above. They'll get way too much attention.

Is Jon Kortajarena gay? There seems to be some scuttlebutt about that online, plus these shots of him and others I've seen of him with with Luke Evans...

Yes, Jon is gay. He openly dated another male model. Now there are rumors he and Luke are a thing. They've gone to three events together and hung out and clubs and hotels where pics ended up on instagram.

They all seem to be doing fine as they are. What will they gain from coming out? Those paying attention have all the answers they need and will obviously assume the rest.

Some in the LGBT community have become real bullies about what public figures do with their sexuality insisting they come out of the closet whether they want to or not. Judging, name calling and ridiculing those who choose to stay in, go back in or remain ambiguous like they are owed some type of pronouncement of one's sexuality if they have a public career. Not everyone wants to be a role model.

Jon Kortajarena is not openly Gay. The paparazzi just happened to catch him with his boyfriend. He's never spoken about it and when asked he told the reporter to mind his business. He doesn't appear comfortable with the Luke rumors either. He posted a bunch of photos on his IG from a couple of events the two were at but when the rumors started he deleted them keeping only one where they are with a group of people. So don't hold your breath for a coming out party with any of these guys.

I don't think any of the 4 people here will come out. Hollywood is not the accepting liberal haven people think it is. On the outside it's very accepting, but not when it comes to making money. Producers won't even cast more one black person in a film for fear whites won't see it. Nor will they write leads for women or feature more than one woman as a main character. They only want what they know traditionally makes money: the white, straight leading man. Look at Quinto's career since he came out.

Don't know, don't care. I don't think it's any of my business and it doesn't effect my life one single iota.

Personally, I think it's kind of cowardly and selfish not to come out when you have to potential to help so many people by doing so.

Pace, I suppose.

I agree with the idea of people not needing to be role models. It's a personal decision. And these guys are celebrities worldwide. That is, when Evans visits some remote area in Asia, people will know he's gay even before shaking hands. Must be weird (and dangerous in areas where bigotry is abundant and/or state approved.

But I don't think asking them to do it is being a bully, now everything is called being a bully. The internet loves big words: bullies, haters, fanboys...

That said, how do you guys know all these things? Is there a magazine called gay gossip -check who's in and who's out?

@Ross you shouldn't need a celebrity to come out to feel better about oneself. Celebrities are no better than anyone else, sometimes they're worse. Cowards? Not everyone is fit to be or wants to be a role model and they shouldn't be judged for it. It's their lives and a deeply personal decision.

I bet the Noted Homosexual's PR team asked for a raise after looking at the results.

It's not about being a role model, it's about honesty and showing the world that there's no shame in being gay. And the biggest factor in changing someone's negative opinion about gays is that person actually knowing someone gay, so it's important that we all come out to as many people as possible. If you're in a situation where it's dangerous or illegal to be gay, I do think you need to protect yourself. But if you're not coming out simply so you don't lose a part in the latest blockbuster movie, I think you've made the deeply personal decision to be selfish and a coward.

I get so tired of Hollywood and their homophobia. I don't think coming out is the death sentence everyone thinks it is: Jim Parsons, Matt Bomer, NPH, Ian McKellan, Z Quinto -- their careers are doing just fine. What annoys me most about Luke is that he listened to his PR people and chose to live dishonestly after PUBLICLY being open about his sexuality. I don't think being gay would signal the end of his career -- it would end because I don't think he's a particularly great actor.
