Good Morning, Gratuitous Van Williams

.
I feel as if it's almost a let-down to start this post off with the above picture - I had to find one morning-themed to go with the whole "Good Morning" thing but Van and I can do better than that dark picture. Let's do this right...

... ah, yes. That is better. Hello, Van Williams! If you're unfamiliar, Van played The Green Hornet on the 60s television show, with Bruce Lee playing Kato. Sometimes they posed together...

... and that was fine. Van didn't do a lot of note outside of Hornet, but I am very interested in seeing 1960's Tall Story, starring Anthony Perkins and Jane Fonda, which apparently (says Wiki) includes a scene where he is "... a smug jock stepping stark naked out of the men's shower giving a young Jane Fonda quite an eye full of him."

I can't find video of this scene anywhere, boo. I'm sure Anthony Perkins enjoyed that day on set. Alright so hit the jump for a ton more photos of Van the man, including several with his good buddy Robert Conrad - somebody really liked taking pictures of them working out together...

several early 60s detective shows were more about beefcake and beaches than crime-solving.
Williams was on 'Surfside 6', Conrad on 'Hawaiian Eye'. Another was '77 Sunset Strip'. They were forefathers of 'CHIPS' and 'Magnum PI'

He sure was pretty, and that kind of pretty still looks good today. However, 4 pictures of Van the man with his good buddy Robert Conrad working out together just isn't enough, I always wanted somebody to imply "James West" was more than the sum of those tight pants. Could we see some more please?

Many thanks for these pics. Something about the look of retro men that does it for me, in a way the looks of today jus' don't.

Thanks again!

So handsome. So many fantasies about him and RC together.

Van Williams is in an episode of "The Dick Van Dyke Show." He plays Clark Rice, a soldier who wins a raffle for a date with Laura when Rob was in the service.

The Tall Story scene you couldn't find is currently at https://youtu.be/yGf-LG_QC8U. Van Williams' line is as reported, the young woman gives a little shriek and flees, and VW laughs lightly.
