I Am Link

.
--- Hot Rodder - AICN has the "big" news on who the bad guy is in the next Fast and Furious movie, and they play it up like it's a big ass spoiler or something but I'm sorry, I refuse to believe there are people who give that much of a shit - Jason Statham is the bad guy in the next one, I guess it somehow ties into earlier films or something? Whatever. They're behaving like this is an epic reveal out of Milton or some shit. The Devil was an Angel once, I get it! I mean who's surprised that Jason Statham is making his way into these movies?

--- Brick Layer - Sam Riami's The Great and Powerful Oz is out on March 8th and I think everybody is feeling kind of meh about it? That's the general consensus the internet's been giving me, but then the internet is boiled down to its essence would probably only be called Eau d'Meh so I ought to be careful, judging this based off the internet's consensus. My excitement about the movie can be summed up by saying its director's name, the end. Yadda yadda here's the first clip from the movie.

--- Bon Juli - The Playlist sees the new Juliette Binoche movie at the Berlin Film Festival and they say it's glacially paced but she's wonderful. You mean I get the chance to just stare at Juliette Binoche's face for two hours? Put me down as a fuck yes, please.

--- Bad Mother - The reviews have been really really bad for Two Mothers - the movie where Naomi Watts and Robin Wright swap their boy-children for mounting purposes - indeed so bad I'm really really hoping for camp value. The French trailer doesn't let on if that's the case, but it does show Xavier Samuel's butt so you know, worth your time and whatnot.

--- American Bullshit - The cast of David O. Russell's next movie is a real who's who of "People who can apparently put up with David O. Russell's bullshit" - Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, the latter having just signed on. Jen will be playing Bale's wife, meaning once again she's being partnered with an actor just technically borderline old enough to be her father. Creepy, y'all.

--- And Speaking of Jennifer Lawrence, Lil' Danny Strong of Buffy nerd fame just finished writing the first part of the final Hunger Games movie (Mockingjay the book's being split into two parts, obviously), and the studio's very happy with what he did so they've hired him to write the second half now. Danny Strong forever!

--- Hey Ho it's a couple new pictures from Dead Man Down, including look-sees at Colin Farrell and Dominic Cooper, oh my.

--- Ol Man River - Over at The Film Experience Nathaniel is also gorging on the big beautiful Warner Brothers boxed-set of twenty movie musicals that I've been posting about here - he watched one of the few he hadn't seen, the 1951 film Show Boat, and wrote up some thought on it. He says it's due for a remake!

--- Fincher For Fisher Men - Brad Pitt is not going to star in David Fincher's remake of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea after all; now it looks like Channing Tatum might do it.
