Good Morning, World

.
Evan Peters did nothing for me on the first season of American Horror Story with all that bleached out emo twink angst, but you slap some honey-wheat in his hair and make him a couple years older and suddenly, va va va voom. Anybody else think he looks a lot like Xavier Samuel suddenly?

Anyway what did we all think of the first episode of the new season of American Horror Story? I didn't realize how much I missed it until Jessica Lange said "Miss Lannnnna Banannnnnna" in that indescribably delightful new accent - I am entirely pumped for all the brand new batshit. Bring it on!

It was amazing. Lange is a genius and yes, I noticed that Peters was ever so much hotter, this season, too.

Funny, they didn't do ANY of the things I would do if I could strap Evan Peters down!

Yes,Jessica Lange gets my vote to play Baby Jane Hudson in the upcoming remake!

My favorite moment:

Peters lying on the alien table, all naked except for that darn white towel. Sooooo not realistic. If you are getting probe, you should be all nude:)

He is so much hotter this season! Malcolm McDowell Jr.

That's a lot of (good) ass.

I completely agree about Evan -- nothing for my last season -- significantly more than nothing this season.

Then there was the added bonus of hot piece Adam Levine -- that little spit-lube moment he had was, ummmm, stimulating.

Overall, I absolutely loved the episode. Something awesome happens when a show throws out all the rules and just comes out says "yep, this is batshit crazy" -- this show owns its craziness!

It was crazy disturbing, but Peters...god, he's just beautiful. I hope he's not bloody all season.

What I find interesting is the debate between science and faith with a twist. Both disciplines could evolve into something evil and sinister if they are taken to an extreme (i.e. Lange's love of physical punishment and the crazily good Cromwell's love of "scientific experiments"). I like that Murphy's trying to draw that parallel. However, I think enough of his sermonizing though. Yes, being gay is hard enough already, so please don't constantly remind me that someone's always trying to get me. I'm grateful that we've come a long way, so I wish Murphy would look more forward into the future (and the prosecution of homosexuality is not the main focus of this season). What makes the first season good is it didn't take itself too seriously and it's a lot of campy fun.

There's always a risk with Murphy's shows that he'll start sermonizing, but I have to say that I'm a big fan based on the first episode, and clearly Evan Peters has gotten a lot better with age.
