Filling Out The Bates Motel

.

Lotsa news on Hitch movies today - earlier we got that picture of Sienna Miller and Toby Jones in the movie about the making of The Birds, as well the word that Jessica Biel was joining the cast of the movie about the making of Psycho, and now comes more casting news for the latter and this is much much cooler - our love Toni Collette has joined the cast as Hitch's longtime assistant Peggy Robertson, and Michael Stuhlbarg is going to play legendary agent Lew Wasserman.

(Anybody else got a crush on Michael Stuhlbarg?)

Also Danny Huston will be playing a friend of Alma's while Michael Wincott will be playing... the infamous (is there any other kind?) serial killer Ed Gein? WTF! Ed Gein's the murderer that Hitch loosely based Psycho on of course (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is also based on him), but how he'll fit into this actual movie I don't know. Weird! And fascinating.

Oh goodness, YES.

Yeah for Toni Collette, anytime she works is a good thing.

Jessica Biel to play Vera Miles? Ugh!! A marginally talented actress to play a very good if sadly underrated actress bad call. Jennifer Lawrence would have been a much better choice and there's even a slight resemblance.

Sorry - Hitch did not base Norman Bates on Ed Gein. Screenwriter Robert Bloch did.

Stulhberg is the best. So glad the Coen brothers picked him for the big time (I know A Serious Man wasn't his first movie roll, but still). He's never anything less than perfect for whatever part he plays.

Oh crap, and I spelled his name wrong. God damn it... Well, hopefully my point stands...
