An Edgar For Dick

.

We're not sure how much actual news of this sort we'll be able to get around to this week since we're working hard on getting our awards up and running and they will consume us wholly for the next five days, but I just had to make the time for this awesomeness, built to make my brain go wow. Via DH:

"Edgar Ramirez will headline Richard Kelly's next project "Corpus Christi" at Quick Draw Productions says Variety. Ramirez would play Paciencia De La Rosa, an Iraqi war veteran with severe post-traumatic stress disorder who forges a dangerous alliance with a wealthy industrialist in Texas.

The film is said to follow a much more traditional narrative than Kelly's last three efforts - the acclaimed "Donnie Darko" and the less well-received sci-fi projects "The Box" and "Southland Tales". Kelly, Robert Rodriguez, Eli Roth, Sean McKittrick, Aaron Kaufman and Iliana Nikolic will produce. Ramirez and Kelly previously worked on "Domino", the former starring while the latter penned the script. Shooting kicks off in Austin and Corpus Christi in July."

We heard about this movie back in February but it's nice to have some actual forward momentum, since I was getting pretty worried about Richard's, well, forward momentum. And Edgar Ramirez is incredible. I've never seen Domino, I don't think I even knew he was in it. That came out during my "Avoid Keira Knightley at all costs" period.

Wow, Édgar sure looks disarmingly beautiful in that first picture.

all I'm gonna say about this is that his character's name means "Patience of the Rose" in spanish.
