Moulin Rouge! has been on my mind this week post-Australia, which of course reminds me of the fact that A) I have very mixed feelings towards MR, and B) those mixed feelings do not have anything to do with Ewan, whose performance as Christian endeared him to me forever. Oh sure I'd liked him very much before this, in Trainspotting and in Velvet Goldmine, but I never loved a performance of his like I did this one.
And yeah, like every other sap on Earth, it was during "Elephant Love Medley" that it happened.
